Purpose: As an Elders Quorum Presidency we are trying to create an environment of unity in our Ward boundary. Also, we want to create an "excuse" to increase our physical activity to improve our overall health. Every calender quarter (or sooner) we will have different activities that promote friendship and increase our health. If you have any activity suggestions please contact Elders Quorum Presidency.
Who: This is for any one living within the 12th ward boundary. This trip will be limited to men only, that are 18 years or older. You do not have to be LDS to attend the activity.
When: We will meet in Moab Friday night May 1rst. We will start the hike Saturday morning May 2nd.
Travel and Accommodations: This is not a church sponsored activity. Everyone is responsible for their own travel and accommodations. For those who attend the activity, we will coordinate carpooling and determine if we will want to camp or get a hotel.
Food: You will be responsible for your own food. But as the activity states we will have a dining experience after the activity is over. Again you will be responsible for the cost of your food.
Gear: Helmet (bike helmet will do), Harness, Belaying device, hiking shoes, rappelling gloves (leather garden gloves), hydration bottles or bladder, small back pack, food. If you do not have the equipment contact Aaron Ogden to make arrangements. 243-1791
Gear that will be provided: Rope and anchors for rappelling
Activity Information: Medieval Chamber is a canyoneering adventure requiring 3 -5 hours to complete. Under normal conditions this route is dry. A large size group is not a problem with this adventure. Medieval Chamber is rated 3A II using the Canyon Rating System.
This canyon has a small flashflood danger, check the local weather report before entering this canyon. The entire drainage and a clear view of the western sky are visible before committing to this canyon.
Length of Hike: 2 miles to Morning Glory Bridge and 2 miles to canyon road.
Type of Hike: Constructed trail with several stream crossings. This is a hiking-only trail.
Area Attractions: Year-round stream in scenic canyon. Morning Glory Natural Bridge, which has a span of 243 feet, is the sixth longest natural rock span in the United States.

For those who still have some adventure in them we will run into the Arches and do a hike called Teirdrop.
Training: As stated above we want to encourage physically active lives. To thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities it is encourage to prepare for physical activity by doing a training program. The follow training program is a general guide to prepare for this trip. If you have questions about the training program, contact Aaron Ogden 243-1791.
We want to encourage participants to form groups that can workout together. Use the blog to coordinate work outs with others and to ask question about the activity.
I am stoked to be doing this!!! Thanks for getting this ready Aaron. Do we need to bring our own harnesses or will those be something that we can share? I am also interested in the training regimen that you will be suggesting!! I need to work this winter gut off! :)
